The heart of your Bookgail account. It hosts a suite of tools and analytics to help you manage your new bookstore.
Follow. Blog. Comment. Review. The next best thing to actually reading is talking about it.
Sign up (did we mention, it's free?), find some books to put on your shelves, follow a fellow user or two, make a recommendation to a friend, join a club, start a blog, browse someone else's bookstore, open your own.
A shelf is a themed collection of books, chosen by you. For example, 10 Best Russian Crime Novels or My Favourite Regency Heroines. Shelves form the heart of your online bookstore and your BookGrail profile. Any book purchased from one of your shelves is credited to you, meanwhile we'll be matching your shelves with other BookGrail users with similar reading tastes and suggesting they drop by and check them out.
How to make a BookGrail shelf:
Currently, you can shelve or recommend millions of titles, but you can only earn commission on the sale of ebooks in our ‘catalogue’ — where we have an agreement with the publisher or author. When searching for books to add to a shelf, you can identify those titles where commission is available by a small BookGrail bg logo attached to the returned search results.
The number is growing. We have over 1300 titles from over 200 authors currently signed up.
If you are an author or publisher and would like your book available on BookGrail, please get in touch.
Per sale, the amount you receive will vary, depending on the price of the book and the discount set by the publisher or author. What you can be sure of is a 50/50 split of the profits (the amount left after author, publisher and credit card fees have been covered).
To allow for returns, the commission on a successful recommendation or sale will be credited to your BookGrail account 45 days after the sale is completed. You can check the credit availability date on the Credit Report page of your dashboard. If you don't spend your credit within BookGrail, you will be paid via Paypal. See here for further terms and conditions.
DRM-free BookGrail ebooks can be read on all current e-readers, including Kindles, Nooks, Kobos, Sony e-readers, smart phones and tablets (providing some form of epub or mobi file e-reader application is available on the phone or tablet). If the publisher or author insists on DRM copy protection, you'll have to read the files on the BookGrail Reader app.
Yes. If the book is in our catalogue you can purchase it directly. If we don't carry it, we'll redirect you to Amazon.
We hope to make BookGrail the hub of your reading life. We're adding new features all the time, here are some that are already operational or coming soon:
